UbaGLU was started by Jos Smith and Frances Dovey, the team that built and headed up the interactive function at Cadbury: each with over 15 years experience in the industry we decided it was time to break out of corporate life.
Also part of the team is Tara Cain, former journalist and Mummy Blogger of the year, Katherine Rouendaal an expert in primary research and Darryl Wain a guru in all things social.
What’s got us to where we are now and what makes us tick?

Frances knew that technology would change the world of communication at an early age when her father brought home one of the first mobile phones housed in its very own briefcase… and she hasn’t looked back.
Her experience working with great products from Dunkin Donuts and Carling through to Cadbury Dairy Milk and other yummy brands have seen her act as a leading force, driving new ways of communicating with consumers. The changes to Cadbury Creme Egg advertising in 2007 and the return of Wispa are among her proudest moments.
But she’s the first to admit this couldn’t have been done without a passion for the unknown or her box of tricks; developing the right infrastructure, tools and processes are the keys to being successful in this world and she’s now busy helping other well known brands to understand how to be just that.

In the days when digital wasn’t a career path…how could you get involved? By accident of course!
Jos first dipped her toes into digital water when the Chairman of a FTSE 100 Company stood by her desk and asked “can we have a website?”.
Since that day over 15 years ago, Jos has been a proactive and progressive thinker advising organisations like Cadbury, Green & Black’s, Reckitt Benckiser and Hyundai on what building blocks to put in place to support communication in today’s integrated world.
Jos is adamant that the right foundations are key to operating smartly and connecting with today’s multi-tasking consumer….and talking of multi-tasking; Jos is a perfect example. Known by the team as the Gadget Queen (and occasionally the digital ninja) you will mostly see her through a fuzzy electric haze comprised of netbook, laptop, iPhone, iPad, Macbook…
